Welcome to the Cottage
The Lost Art of Slow Living - A free illustrated guide from A Wild & Simple Life for anyone longing to live a little more slowly.
A Gentle Guide for Returning to
Slower, Quieter Living
If life has begun to feel a little too loud... If the days move faster than you'd like... If you've been longing for slower mornings, quieter evenings and more meaningful moments...
I wrote The Lost Art of Slow Living just for you.
Inside you'll find gentle reflections, simple analogue rituals and practical ways to reconnect with the quieter rhythms that once came naturally.

"This isn't a guide to doing more. It's an
invitation to notice more."
Why I Wrote The Lost Art of Slow Living
Over the years I've watched many of us drift further away from the things that quietly nourish us.
We scroll instead of wandering, consume instead of creating, answer notifications before birdsong and we rush through ordinary moments that once would have become memories.
I don't believe we need to reject modern life. I simply believe we need places that remind us how to return to ourselves.
This little guide became one of those places.

"Every cottage has its quiet rituals."

"Ordinary moments become extraordinary when we stop rushing through them."
Have you noticed it?
The inability to focus on books the way you once could?
The constant urge to check your phone?
The strange feeling of being mentally scattered even after doing “nothing” all day online?
The sense that your attention has become fragmented?
This challenge was created as a soft antidote to digital overwhelm. Not through shame or strict rules - but through beauty, atmosphere, slowness, and gentle reconnection.

This Is Not an Extreme Digital Detox or "Optimisation" Guide
The Lost Art of Slow Livinh is designed to feel comforting, realistic, and deeply human.
For seven days, you’ll be guided through small, nourishing shifts that help you spend less time on your phone and more time inhabiting your actual life.
This guide is about remembering that life exists beyond screens. And that beauty still lives in ordinary things.

Perhaps This Is Where We Begin...
I hope this little guide encourages you to notice the things that are so easily overlooked.
The sound of rain on the roof. The comfort of a favourite mug. A book left open beside the bed.
Birds gathering at first light. A handwritten letter arriving unexpectedly.
Sometimes a slower life doesn't begin with changing everything. Sometimes it begins with one quiet afternoon.
I hope this guide helps you find yours.
